No uncooked produce while the cyclospora outbreak lasts and until we’re back from the hospital — besides oranges and bananas (things where you don’t eat or cut through a potentially contaminated surface). Frozen fruits & veggies for smoothies are OK.
Masks outside when air quality is above 100. Kid masks are in the hall closet below the hall window, in the plastic drawer at the lower right.
Morning
Afternoon
Nap 12:30–3ish. Gets a bottle (1/4 milk, 3/4 water). We haven’t had a nap at home since introducing the new sleep-training system, but if she doesn’t nap it’s not the end of the world (though she’ll be unruly in the afternoon).
3:30pm (or 4pm): gets her sesame dose daily — 1/8 tsp of tahini, placed at the top of a pouch — at 3:30pm daily. Needs 2 hours of close monitoring afterward for a reaction.
Bedtime — new routine (updated 7/17)
- 7:15 (if the nap was short) or 7:30.
- Bath (if needed), brush teeth (use the small toothpaste for 1-year-olds), and pajamas. Then, in order:
- Take her Minnie stuffie and a bottle of water to bed. Make sure she has no poop in her diaper. No sleepsack needed unless the AC is extra cold.
- Turn on the AC (you have to reach past the loom) and the white noise (side button for the plug in the wall).
- Sing a song. She’ll be fussy at bedtime and may cry through the song.
- It’s heartbreaking, but leave her crying — be calm, sweet, and confident: “Night night, I’ll see you in the morning,” and close the door.
- Keep an eye on her on the monitor. She should stop crying within 15 minutes, and may look out the window for a while before lying down. If she becomes hysterical, sit with her until she falls asleep, then sneak out quietly. Use your best judgment.
- Toilet: starting to practice — likes to do the steps and read a book while on the potty, but doesn’t actually go yet. Wants her diaper all the way off when on the toilet.
- “Manos” & “brush” (updated 7/17): loves washing her hands, but will overuse and/or eat the soap. Turn the soap dispenser off (toggle in back) and turn it away from her after a single use, then help her rinse the soap off. For teeth, use the toddler-specific toothpaste (help her if you can) and don’t let her eat it — she will.
Medical — sesame allergy
If she has a sesame reaction, see the allergy protocol on the Emergency tab. Zyrtec for a mild symptom; AuviQ (preferred) or Epipen for a moderate-to-severe reaction — give the initial dose, take to the ER, give the 2nd dose 5 min after the 1st dose.
